The Old Brewhouse self catering holiday cottage sleeps 4 and is a comfortable and charming place to stay by the week from Saturday to Saturday. Our guests usually spend some of their time relaxing on this traditional Scottish estate: walking the dog, playing football on the lawn, or just enjoying the peace and quiet. The estate may also be of particular interest to birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts as it enjoys a huge range of indiginous and migrating species of birds, wild boar, beaver and deer. It is also a great springboard for attractions in the wider area of North East Perthshire in paticular, the Glenshee ski slopes and the ever popular Spittal of Glenshee Hotel.

Come in June for evening beaver viewing. On long summer evenings the  beavers may be seen swimming across the pond or eating bankside  vegetation. Lucky people may even see beaver cubs. For more about Beavers - Click here...

The Old Brewhouse is a well built Victoiran building, a cottage-like wing of the main house, converted in 2000 by renowned architects, retaining many original features. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 double, and 1twin, dining room - which can be converted to a bedroom on request - a small sitting room with wood burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with bath/shower, and a porch with washing machine and deep freeze. The cottage is warm and cosy and ideal any time of year particularly in the Autumn, Winter and early Spring when the landscape and unusual light, special to Scotland, combine to create a rather magical environment on the edge of reality, that is hard to express in words.

Dogs are welcome but smoking is not. Logs, linen and towels are provided. Electricity is extra. The meter is read on arrival and departure. Please arrive after 4pm and leave by 10am the following Saturday.

What our Guests Say

When we arrived we got stuck on the drive that was covered in 2 feet of snow. But eventually with a lot of pushing we got to the Old Brewhouse and the lovely fire was on and we settled down for a lovely stay. We came here for the skiing in the nearby Glenshee (BRILLIANT!) and the cottage was lovely to come back to after a long day of skiing. Thanks for the warm welcome and brilliant hospitality. Would love to come back and see what this place is like in the Summer. Richard, Lois, Amy and Jess.

Once again another fabulous week, just as good as our 3 previous visits. Thanks Paul and Louise for your wonderful hospitality.
Beavers spotted on 3 separate nights at the lower wetlands. Climb Balduff Hill - superb views from the top, but allow 1½ hours for the trek there.
A week is too short.
Thanks Jan, Ray, Alex and Auntie Lynne.

Accommodation very good, welcome excellent, surroundings breathtaking. A most enjoyable family holiday, thoroughly enjoyed by all, will return next year. Andy Annette & Jo, Gloucestershire.
